The Kennedy Center is awash in cool blue color from the Nordic Cool light exhibit.
If you live in the Washington DC area and have driven by the Kennedy Center at night recently I’m sure you’ve seen the building is glowing a cool blue color. It’s part of the Nordic Cool 2013 Festival. The exterior light exhibit is meant to mimic the Northern Lights or aurora borealis. Cool blue lights illuminate the outside walls with accents of shimmering green moving across the building.
On my way back to the car I stopped at the stairs. I still really liked how they looked at night, so I found my spot and setup my tripod. After I was done and starting to pack up my camera a man and his dog came down the stairs. I’ve been out at night taking photos for enough years and had people come up to talk to me that I can tell before someone says anything to me that they are going to talk to me. He walked by, but then stopped and came back and asked if I sell my photos. I hadn’t expected that question, actually never been asked that before! The most common question is someone asking me to help them with their camera so they can get a nice picture.
Hope you like seeing the Kennedy Center in blue, and if you are in the DC area go by and check it out. There’s also exhibits inside the Kennedy Center for the Nordic Cool festival.
