The peak for the blossoms finally happened yesterday and I was able to make it there for the sunrise. I decided to do an image like my ‘Night Blossoms’ from last year, which is why I named this one ‘Night Blossoms 2014‘.
Every year the National Park Service predicts the peak bloom period for the cherry blossoms in Washington DC. For 2014 they are predicting it to be April 8th to the 12th. But looking at the pictures I took of the trees yesterday (April 2nd) and the information on the NPS website, that might be a tad early.
The Air Force Memorial is pretty quiet in the early morning hours.
While it’s not a real castle, it’s the closest thing to a castle that’s in Washington DC!

I shot this photograph of an early morning red dawn over Washington DC last month.
With Veterans Day Weekend coming up I decided to post a photo of the soldiers raising the flag at Iwo Jima. I took this photograph of the Iwo Jima Memorial on the same morning I took the last one, Forged In Fire. All I had to do was have patience and wait for the colors of the sky to change United States.
If it’s close to Halloween, that means it’s pumpkin carving time! This year I carved my new-born son’s face into a pumpkin. The video is ok, didn’t have the camera positioned right though. If you are interested in doing one of these yourself checkout my tutorial.
