The same morning I took the photograph US Capitol Before Dawn I also captured this image.
It only took about 15 minutes to go from the rich dark blues of the US Capitol Before Dawn image to having pink colors in the sky. Once the sun has risen enough in the sky that it actually starts to illuminate the clouds in the sky the colors start to change. So make sure if you are out taking pictures before the sunrise that you get there early enough and stay long enough to see all the color changes! It’s kinda like the leaves in the fall.
