I got a pretty positive response from my posting the zoomable High Resolution – Lincoln Memorial page, so I decided to post up my stitched image of the Vegas strip from the Eiffel Tower.
The full resolution of the image is 18,100 x 5,487 pixels. That makes this image almost a 95 megapixel shot – much larger then any modern DSLR! If you printed the image at 300 pixels per inch you’d end up with a print that’s 60.3″ across and 18.3″ tall – a 5 foot long print. The shot is actually composed of 162 individual images. It’s a stitched HDR image, so there are three shots for each section of the stitch. The image was shot handheld at the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Casino, because of that there were some stitching errors when I finally put it together. A lot of hand post-processing was needed to fix the issues. I really enjoy making these high resolution images even though they take me a lot of time! The detail you can see when you zoom in is what I like so much about them. Hope you enjoy it!
