While this photograph wasn’t taken today, it definitely captures how frozen DC currently is.
I shot this photograph of an early morning red dawn over Washington DC last month.
I took this photograph, Night Scaffolding, last night at the reflecting pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Even though it was a Sunday night and it was 9:30PM, there were still lots of tourists walking around in the area!
With it being summer the area on the National Mall is normally filled with people jogging, walking, biking, or playing sports in the afternoon – at least the areas just in front of the museums and art galleries. But if you just cross the street you’ll find a nice sea of green to capture the scaffolding at sunset.
I took this photograph of Memorial Bridge with the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument in the distance Friday afternoon after a storm had passed through the area.
Today the Washington Monument greeted you with a cool blue morning.
I took this photograph of the Tidal Basin earlier this week in the afternoon – one of the few times we had some nice sunshine and blue sky!
The scaffolding is fully erected on the Washington Monument now to repair the damage from the VA earthquake that happened in August of 2011.
Maybe a nice picture of a sunrise over DC will get the weather to change a little and give us some nice days in DC!
