Canon 6D Raw Sample Images With Comparison To 5D2 And 5D3 – Set 2

Here’s a second set of images taken with the Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 5D Mark III, and Canon 6D.  If you haven’t read the first post, Canon 6D Raw Sample Images With Comparison To 5D2 And 5D3, I’d suggest you read it first.  It explains how these tests were setup.  This time I also used a Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS USM for one of the scenes.

This time I wanted to get a little more color in the scenes.  The last ones were not black and white, but they definitely weren’t very colorful either.

  1. These are great. I only wish they were taken with exactly the same exposure values. In some cases, the same shot was underexposed on the 6D, and so it would have more noise than the 5DIII. But if the shutter speed were the same, it ought to have less. Still, this is helpful. Thanks.

    • Stephen,
You are absolutely correct, thank you for catching that. I just looked at the exif info and for image4 the shutter speed for the 6D is different then the 5D models. Very annoying! I was trying to be careful, but looks like not careful enough. Well, I’ll be posting some more, I’ll check before putting them up this time!
      Thanks again

  2. Really useful! Thank you for comparison and raw fullsizes!
It looks like that for 6D color noise reduction (by color channels) is ON everywhere, because colors less saturated and more blurry. Does 6D camera have no option to switch it off?
