Canon 5D Mark III Raw Sample Images – High ISO

UPDATE: I have put up new raw sample images, make sure you check out the latest Canon 5D Mark III raw sample images post.

Got my Canon 5D Mark III camera today and went out to Washington DC to take some test pictures.  I was interested in seeing how the high ISO performance was with the camera.  Decided I’d share the raw files with anyone else that would like to see them.  The camera was set to Av mode f/8, ISO ranged from 1600-102,400.  All shots were taken with the Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS USM lens on Slik 700DX Tripod legs using a Bogen 3030 3-way pan/tilt head.

Check current price of Canon 5D Mark III.

Here are four shots:

I’ll write up more of a review about the camera later, just wanted to get some raw files up for people to checkout that wanted to see high ISO night shots.  If there’s a type of shot you’d like me to take and put up the raw file for it just let me know and I’ll try to get it done.

  1. You are one of the fortunate ones. I have been dreaming about this camera for the past two years. It will be at least a month before I can buy it. What are your initial thoughts? I’m assuming you’ve upgraded from a 5D Mk II. I’m selling my Mk II to finance the Mk III.

    • So far I really like it, but just got it yesterday! The AF is so far ahead of the 5D Mk II. I have a 5D2 and a 7D, and this AF is beyond the 7D. Like other reviewers have said, the build/feel quality is much better then the 5D Mk II. I saw a video online of the silent shutter sound compared to the regular shutter sound, it’s actually much quieter than in that video. Not sure why, but that video didn’t seem to capture the sounds compare to what I hear when it’s in front of me. I’ll try doing a video of it and capture better what it really sounds like. I’ll have more to say after I’ve used it more!
