This is the third and final image in a series of photographs of the Washington Monument with the scaffolding being installed to repair the damage from the Virginia earthquake in August, 2011.
The first photograph, Repairing The Monument I, was taken earliest in the morning at 6:21AM. The second photograph in the series, Repairing The Monument II, was taken at 6:49AM. And this photograph, the final in the series, was taken at 6:58AM, only 9 minutes later. The colors of the sky at the horizon has changed to a more orange hue then the pink from the previous image. Also the clouds at the top of the photograph have started to clear so you can see the bright blue sky.
It’s nice that all I had to do was stand in the same spot and wait for the clouds and sun to change around me and I was able to get three different images that are each unique.
