I took this picture of the Lincoln Memorial on a cold windy night. It’s part of my Lonely Tourist series of pictures.
The temperature was 36F and it took about an hour to get all the images I needed for this picture. To say I was cold by the time I started walking back to my car is an understatement! I hadn’t noticed the girl sitting talking on her cell phone till the next day when I was looking over the images:
I really like her sitting there looking out over the National Mall as Lincoln is doing. That’s one of the things I love about taking large stitches like this, you never really know what all you’ve got a picture of till you get home and start looking through them all. There are details you just don’t notice when you are there.
Image was shot with the Canon 5D Mark II camera and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens. It’s a 500MPixel stitch from 588 images.
