If the are lucky and the air is very still, you can get a nice reflection of the Jefferson Memorial in the Tidal Basin.
At times it can be hard to get a photograph of the Jefferson Memorial where it’s nicely reflected in the water of the Tidal Basin. Not only will a little wind ripple the top of the water, the tide going in or out can also cause little current trails to be seen in the water. And add on top of that ducks swimming around breaking the stillness.
I was lucky for this shot. It was actually taken back in November when it was cold out, so not as many ducks around. It was also very early in the morning, which I’ve noticed the water is more likely to be calm when it’s dark out then when the sun is rising. All the elements came together allowing me to capture this scene to present to you!
