If you’ve only been to the Air And Space Museum in Washington DC and you really love aviation, you should definitely take a trip out to the Udvar-Hazy Center.
The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is part of the National Air and Space Museum. It’s actually a giant hanger out near Dulles International Airport and houses a dizzying array of aircraft. Some of the most famous aircraft that’s housed at the center are the SR-71 Blackbird, the space shuttle Discovery, and the Enola Gay. The plane pictured here is the Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star. The plane was developed to be used as a training aircraft.
The version at the Udvar-Hazy Center has the body polished to a gleaming silver and really stands out in the hanger. The Udvar-Hazy Center has many different aircrafts on display for you to view. They also have helicopters, aircraft engines, commercial aircraft, rockets, satellites launched into space, and numerous other items that are too many to mention! If you are planning a trip to DC and are into aviation or space flight, it’s definitely a place you’ll want to visit.
