Great Falls Park is an area I haven’t photographed a lot of, but I’ll definitely be going back again to take more shots.

Although my next trip I guess I’ll have to wait till the government shutdown is over with so I can actually get in.  The park in general hasn’t changed much since I started going back in high school, but there has been one major change.  Back then you could easily go out onto the rocks on the Virginia side of the park.  You could climb out and get a really great view of the falls.  If you were adventurous you could even climb down the rocks to where the water was at, all you needed to do was find a good path!  I hadn’t been out to the park in a number of years, so it was different seeing lots and lots of fencing put up to try to keep people from climbing out onto the rocks.  Progress, all in the name of safety!

  1. I haven’t been in ages either … sorry but not surprised to hear about the fencing. Same old same old … a few careless fools ruining things for everyone else. Anyway, beautiful, beautiful image … love the light and the mists and of course the angle!!
