If you find yourself in Los Angeles, CA very early in the morning or late at night, definitely head to the Griffith Observatory for an incredible view of the city.
At the top of Griffith Park is the Griffith Observatory. The observatory sits high above the city overlooking the downtown area. The observatory is a tourist attraction with any space and science related displays inside. But you don’t need to go into the observatory to enjoy the view. Around behind the observatory is an incredible view of the city. If you get there when it’s nice and dark outside the city lights will appear to twinkle. I took the pictures that make up this image at about 5AM from the backside of the observatory.
I was lucky in that it was a fairly clear night. But even with it being clear, there are so many city lights in the distance that the horizon was lit up and glowed a bright orange.
